Ingredients

  • 1 packet Asian Home Gourmet Indonesian Mee Goreng Spice Paste (50g)
  • 400g (14 oz) fresh yellow noodles or cooked egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 200g (7 oz) chicken, shrimp, beef, or tofu, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • ½ cup bean sprouts
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 2 eggs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a wok or large frying pan.
  2. Cook the chicken, shrimp, beef, or tofu for 3–4 minutes until nearly done.
  3. Add the onion (and garlic, if using) and stir-fry for 1 minute.
  4. Add the Mee Goreng Spice Paste and 2 tablespoons of water. Stir until fragrant.
  5. Add the noodles and toss until evenly coated with the sauce.
  6. Stir in the cabbage and bean sprouts and cook for 2–3 minutes.
  7. If using eggs, push the noodles to one side, scramble the eggs in the pan, then mix everything together.
  8. Serve hot.
